High Levels of interest for Longridge Store

Posted on 23rd September 2011

Since being appointed to market the former Spar shop on Berry Lane, Longridge on behalf of E H Booth & Co. Ltd. just three months ago, Robert Pinkus & Co. are optimistic that a new tenant can be secured for the property very soon.

Since the former Spar came to the rental market in July, a high number of enquiries have been received, several viewings have been carried out and three offers have been made. However, at this stage no firm offers have yet been accepted as viewings are still ongoing and Booths are currently in negotiations with a number of significant retailers.

Claire Caunce, retail surveyor said, “The initial response has been very positive having received notifications of interest from a wide variety of retailers both national multi-chain brands and established local traders.”

The property sits fronting Berry Lane, Longridge’s main high street and adjoins an existing Booths’ foodstore which, following Booths’ acquisition of a leasehold interest in the Spar site and car park, is undergoing a £500,000 extension and refurbishment, including the development of a new shared 150 space customer car park, situated on either side of the property.

The premises are available on a new lease at a quoting rent of £35,000 per annum. Enquiries should be made with Claire Caunce on 01772 769000.
