City Centre Shop Slashes Rents

Posted on 7th July 2008

An historic Preston furniture store in Preston has slashed £20,000 of the rent of the property in a bid to beat the property price slowdown.

Robert Pinkus & Co are looking for a new tenant for the former Atkinson’s Furniture store on Church Street and have reduced the rental from £30,000 per annum to just £10,000 per annum. Claire Eccleston, Retail Surveyor said, “The client is fully aware of the financially difficult market we are operating in at the moment and is looking for a quick letting. The property is of a considerable size and someone taking on this property would be getting an unbelievable deal.”

The property has over 12,000 sq ft of retail space over the ground and the first floors with storage on basement and second floor levels. The site also has planning permission for A1 retail use although it is yet to be taken up by the previous owners or previous tenants.
