Age UK’s Largest Cumbrian Showroom To Open In Ulverston

Posted on 27th April 2016

We are pleased to report that Canal Head Business & Retail Park, Ulverston is now fully let as Age UK South Lakeland secures its biggest Cumbrian outlet to date.

The 4,095 sq ft showroom has been let to Age UK South Lakeland on a new 10 year lease with Robert Pinkus & Co. LLP acting on behalf of the landlord E H Booth & Co. Ltd. Age UK South Lakeland will trade directly opposite Booths and alongside WCF Pet Supplies, Cumbria Crystal and Mountain Warehouse.

Age UK will open to the public on Thursday 2nd June at 10am and will trade alongside their existing Ulverston town centre store in New Market Street and a further 9 outlets throughout Cumbria including a Grange Superstore, Milnthorpe Outlet and Kendal Furniture Warehouse.

The Canal Head branch has created three new jobs for the area but additional volunteers are urgently required.

The new store will provide the charity with ample space to run a donation centre and retail outlet that can accommodate larger items such as furniture and household goods, as well as accepting good quality donations of kitchenware, electricals, books, bric-a-brac and clothing.

John O’Brien, Head of Income at Age UK South Lakeland said, “The new showroom at Canal Head will be our biggest Cumbrian outlet to date and we’ll be able to make fantastic use of the showroom space and great on-site customer parking. We will take any saleable donations big or small. The new Canal Head showroom will provide a substantial boost to our fundraising efforts which will be distributed back into the local community to help maintain and improve community events and services.”

Age UK also offer a free furniture collection service within the South Lakeland area and can also deliver items for a small charge. For collection of bulky donations please call 01229 587370 http://bit.ly/1VRVSRL
